TRENDS Research & Advisory has acquired the right from Columbia University to translate this book and publish it in Arabic. The book presents an inside view into how one of the world's most influential Islamist groups (the Muslim Brotherhood) operates. The author conducted insightful interviews with prominent former members and associates in Europe, the United Kingdom, and North America, shedding light on why and how people join and leave Western outfits of the Muslim Brotherhood.Drawing on these vivid personal accounts, the author weaves together the experiences of individuals who participated in and later renounced the Brotherhood. Their perspectives provide a wealth of new information about the organization's secretive inner workings and the networks connecting the small yet highly organized cluster of Brotherhood-influenced groups.The book also examines the Brotherhood's tactics to recruit and retain members and how and why individuals decide to leave. The author explains that the group's activities and motivations have significant policy implications for the organization and shares the underlying mechanisms found in several extremist groups, including their use of violence and the relationship between the Brotherhood and other Jihadist movements.
