But do they always get their due respect and pay for the work they do? Have you ever thought what our places would look like and smell, if the garbage cleaners were not there for us?

Scripted in a rhythmic way, the book Kuraewala, celebrates the hard work of Phool Chand, the garbage cleaner who picks our household waste and brooms our roads. Phool Chand does not clean our roads but also the stereotypes attached with the work of garbage cleaners. The book also gives a glimpse of dejection, faced by Phool Chand as he does his daily chores and finally the society has an epiphany that a job which most people may consider not so very appropriate deserves an appreciation both in terms of wages and respect.
