汤岛之恋

Love in Yushima is a collection of classic novels written by Kyoka Izumi, Japanese romantic representative writer and pioneer of fantasy literature. This books includes representative novels, such as Monk Takano, Love in Yushima, Ajisai, Night Constable and Surgery Department. Kyoka pursues romanticism. His works are full of love and hatred between men and women, and fantasy between this world and the alien world. In the early stage, the novels were mainly conceptual novels exposing the social reality mercilessly, insisting in the existence of eternal pure love, and possessing a strong ideological tendency; later, his writing style was changed since he was influenced by the British Victorian romanticism and Gothic novels and listened to many Edo anecdotes narrated by his mother in childhood. Because of his love for poetry and his creation, he was interested in George Gordon Byron, William Butler Yeats and the fairy tales about leprechauns of Northern Ireland, which formed the unique beautiful and mysterious style of Kyoka.
