Nick owns a large company, K Corp, that makes toys and rescues magical beings. Nick's parents started this company but Nick took over when they were murdered by a Wiijigoo. She learned that her magic and her soulmate were tied together. She had a choice to keep her magic and her true love or give it up for the stable life she had created in Michigan. Nick helped her travel to Ireland to find the coven that cast the original spell on her ancestors, so they cast a spell to always be able to find each other. This was passed down in her bloodline. The amulet that holds the spell is in her GREAT AUNT MAGGY's possession. She will only give Aoife the amulet if she completes the task of vanquishing the demon that killed her parents when she was a child.Aoife and Nick travel to a demon dimension to capture and bring back the demon but Nick gets injured. Aoife manages to get him and the demon back to K Corp. Once Nick is healed, she vanquishes the demon. Maggy found peace and had sent the amulet to Aoife before her death.Before she has a chance to decide, a banshee at K Corp, CAMI, alerts Aoife to a vision she had, Susan was going to die. Cami almost didn't tell her the news because the coven warned her not to. They believed in only helping the magical community. Aoife created a portal so she and Nick can rescue Susan from Aoife's ex-husband's attack. Susan was injured but will recover, and her ex-husband was in jail.Aoife debated whether or not to go back to K Corp because she didn't trust the coven now. She believed humans and magicals were equal.Nick agreed but was scared to change how things were done because he worried it would dishonor his parents. He found the strength to make the change, the coven reluctantly agreed.In a dream that night her Aunt Maggy visited her, warning her that she heard a creature was going to sneak inside K Corps wards and attack her. Nick locked down the building. Cami had a vision of Aoife killing Nick. Aoife didn't believe it. Nick arrived at her room, acting not like typical Nick. She knew it wasn't him even though it looked like him. She secretly calls Nick to warn him, then brings him to her in the bathroom by creating a portal with her magic. She portals the imposter Nick, the real Nick, and herself to the training room where security was ready to protect them. The imposter revealed that he was the creature that tried to attach her in the ally. He also told Nick that he was involved in his parents' murder as well but wouldn't answer any more questions. Nick chose to protect Aoife and not get answers for himself. Aoife portaled the creature to a dimension of nothing to suffer alone for eternity. Aoife realizes that magic is a part of her and makes her stronger. She felt whole with her magic and Nick by her side.
