A Book of Fulani Ballads

Africa is known for its natural resources and scenery, but little is written of its tales and legends which must yet be told by its sons and daughters. After all, it is the birthplace of the Pharaohs and Neguses who once ruled over this mythical yet mystical place. How far back one can go, the African continent abounds with stories old folks used to narrate around the campfire-stories of fishermen and hunters and warriors and harvests and invaders and lovers and wrestlers and kings and queens make up the bulk of the African folklore, which nowadays is trivialized like any other experience on the flat plane of Earth. Without any exaggeration, these storytellers (griots) were the greatest teachers yet keepers of the tradition that links the present to the past. In this age of worldwide acculturation, one may step back and consider if the path taken this far is worthy to be traveled or should be abandoned at once. This book may well answer this question for the millions of Africans at home and abroad.
