A Boy, A Castle and A Dog

Zvi Mann, is an Israeli teacher and author. He was born as his parents (his father was the well-known Yiddish author Mendel Mann) fled from Poland into Russia just ahead of the Nazis as World War II was starting. Their amazing journey took the family to a Russian gulag, then to Berlin with the Russian army, from there to a castle in southern Germany under the protection of the American army, and finally, to Palestine. Oh yes, there is a dog in the story, too, a dog that was lost and a dog that was found! The dog became the closest friend of this child who was swept up in devastating events that were beyond his understanding.This is his true and heartwarming story. Set in the aftermath of World War II and the Holocaust, it is a story of hope for all lonely children.
