A Chaos of Kittens Meets a Knot of Toads

The book features terms of venery that are collective nouns for groups of animals such as a gaggle of geese. Some of these terms are over 500 years old and were thought up by hunting groups of wealthy elite citizens. They are so entertaining that they were easily adopted and used by everyone. The story concerns a dispute between a chaos of kittens playing too close to the toad pond, making noise, and kicking rocks into the water. Their play causes severe indigestion among the nervous knot of toads and sends a smack of jellyfish into fits of burping, which fill up the pond with bubbles. A pounce of cats arrives to defend the kittens and a parliament of owls chooses six jurors to hear the case and find a solution. All the animals in the land soon arrive with everyone adding their own ideas resulting in an awesome state of confusion.
