Welcome to your companion to the Overseas Nurses Programme!  Whether you are considering applying for the programme, or have already started, it will tell you all you need to know about nursing in the UK.

Using the book, youll learn some techniques designed to make your work and studies here easier, as well as plenty of exercises and activities to help you towards success.  It will provide you with information that will be your guide through the ONP, and also help you to become aware of the responsibilities that both you and your employers have as you begin working.

• Looks at the role of the nurse in the UK, how health care is delivered in this country, and what you will need to achieve during the ONP

• Covers issues relating to living and working in a multicultural society, and the communication and language skills you will need to develop in your practice. 

• Reflective practice  is also examined, and a chapter on placement issues will help you understand the guidance and support that you will receive during your studies.
