A Constant Goodbye can be read like the record fragmented about the diaspora, about the broken lives of those who were forced to leave their countries. Gisela Romero, with aesthetic mastery, took pieces of some scattered memories and put them together in an exhibition marked by traces of disenchantment, but also with nuances of hope. Each frame is the testimony of a goodbye, which not only involves a change of geography but also, an emotional journey that means leaving behind what you know, the warmth of home and family, to face the uncertainty.

The artist uses her talent to delve into the complexity of the emotions overflowing the experience of migrants, who search for the security that their countries of origin does not provide them. This work reflects the vertigo of Venezuelan diaspora, desolation, and pain. Through drawings and texts, our author invites viewers to contemplate the paths traveled by millions of people who have left their homes behind and carry silences loaded with stories.

A Constant Goodbye also shows the generosity of our land and its rich cultural amalgam. Venezuela has received millions of immigrants who came fleeing the horror, today they see their descendants make the return trip, escaping from hardship and oppression. Through her art, Gisela Romero celebrates Venezuela's multicultural heritage and draws a story of unity and belonging.

A Constant Goodbye shows the universal emotional stretch marks of those who have undertaken the search for security, of a better life, of a personal Ithaca, the last refuge that can give them protection from loneliness and uprooting.
