'A Dark Night, A Long Night' gives a Sci Fi genre answer to a question that many of us ask from time to time. That question being, 'What if?' In this case, what if those who are in power are wrong? What if the exact opposite of what we are told is happening is in fact occurring much to our unpreparedness? The story also looks at possible repercussions that scientists, and those of us with a serious interest in science sometimes face when experimenting with what we don't really fully understand. In 'A Dark Night, A Long Night' the repercussions are life changing, and in fact World changing. The city referred to in this book as Duntoon, is loosely based on a wonderful city full of historical significance called Dunedin, located around three quarters of the way down the East Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Dunedin is the home to the University of Otago, arguably the top University in New Zealand, which is also noted as having the only dental school in New Zealand, which many overseas students attend. Dunedin also has within its boundaries the only accessible Albatross colony in the World, New Zealand's only castle, the World's steepest street, the only fully covered in grass surface stadium in the World, a huge Cadbury Chocolate factory (including Cadbury World), and numerous other nature based attractions. Add to all of this the dozens of quality restaurants and bars; Dunedin is a top location that should be on every visitor's list of places to visit while in New Zealand. I hope you will enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed writing it, and will follow the story further in the books that will follow this one, and expand on the happenings in and around the fictional city called Duntoon in the non-fictional and beautiful country of New Zealand.
