A Dream Passage

Tomas, at age sixteen, is about to take his passage to become an adult member of an amazing city, Norden, that has developed the technology to make dreams come true.

This should be a time for celebration, but Tomas and girlfriend Kala are undisciplined dreamers and to live their own dreams they must defy Tomas’ parents and the Dream Council, moving to an old-style farming community in the South.

Farming has its own challenges, not least of which is the rust in their wheat and Kala is captured by the Dream Patrol on a trip to collect sulphur enriched spring water to treat the rust. Tomas finds that he has to speak up and even become the Southern leader to ensure they adopt his peaceful plan to rescue Kala.

Ultimately, Tomas and Kala find that they must challenge the entire dream system and change everything to be together.
