A Fleeting Glance at Most

The essays and poems in this small book are the result of rummaging through the antique gemstones of my memory. They are about people and events that, for reasons obscure, stand out over what has now been many years of ordinary and out-of-the-experience. The entries are a kaleidoscope of other times and places, a fragmented sort-of-memoir strung together by retained images, the joy of making one's way in the world, the comfort of family, friends, and collegial relationships and, I reluctantly confess, elderly reflection. The underlying theme throughout is wonder at the way the world I have known works.
