A Gentleman of Courage

Sarah Mackenzie's father, an eminent professor whom she assisted, has died, leaving her alone in New York City and without a job. So, when her older cousin, famous author, John Scott Mackenzie, invites her to move clear across the country to a small town on the Washington coast to be his secretary, Sarah jumps at the chance for a new life. John's wife and two daughters welcome her with open arms and Sarah couldn't be happier. The only problem is John's best friend and close neighbor, the enigmatic artist, Alec Gregory. Face, marred by a hideous scar, the man is frightening to look at and acts as though she is a nuisance. Thank goodness, Trevor Cadeau lives nearby. Rich, handsome and attentive, Sarah is sure she has met her Prince Charming. The future looks rosy until nasty things start happening in their usually tranquil countryside. Soon, Sarah's happiness turns to fear, and what she thought was romance turns to insanity.
