Dreams... it seems like every new adventure we have begins in one. The nightmares that brought the Academy Seekers and the Sephalim. The shared dreams that introduced us to Arimel and the unbreakable connection she cursed us with. And now, this new dream - a dream on a beach, so far from home, so far from everything we know. Landon's motionless body lying next to us, and the pieces of a broken ship washing ashore.

All I ever wanted in this life was to be like my father. Spending the days smithing at our forge, and the evenings listening to Laena and her wild stories. Wynn... well she just wanted to get away from it all. But, Landon and Beckett, and this war between them, it took everything from us. All they kept telling us was that we were special.
