A Joyous Life

Soon after being diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease, the author was admiring flowers in the garden with her granddaughter. She overheard her granddaughter mispronounce a butterfly as a "flutterby." From a simple three-year-old's mispronunciation, an idea formed that became the basis of A Joyous Life. 

The story follows a caterpillar that lives a life full of fun, laughter, and joy. She is surrounded by friends and loved ones.
