A Little Bit of Everything

Variety is the spice of life we are told. And not everyone has time to read a book in one sitting. Well, there's a fair amount of variety in this collection of novelettes, and none are as long as a book.

Fred Dorflinger shares close quarters with the austere Rev. Mr. Charles J. Hostetter and learns that history repeats itself when "The Dip Takes a Plunge". A young Fred Dorflinger makes a bad decision and finds himself on the wrong side of the law with very funny results in "My Life of Crime". Finally, the Baron Rokosky has always known "The Blood Is the Life", but when his castle is invaded by mysterious intruders, he appreciates it all the more.
Mystery, science fiction, humor, and horror are genres that appeal to readers, but many readers settle with one genre that has interested them and ignore the others. This collection provides a smattering of these four genres. If you've only tried one - or none - before, you're in for a treat. These aren't just novelettes. "The Name of the Frame" won the Samuel Friedberg award for Mystery. "The Dip Takes a Plunge" won the John T. Ruhl Memorial award for humor.
