A Paragon of Zen House

Xishan (1520-1604) compiled what he considered the brightest pearls of wisdom from the Sutras and other early Buddhist texts and commented on them in The Chanja Guigian (after transliteration into Chinese). Park (philosophy and religion, Appalachian State U., Boone, North Carolina) first translated it from the Chinese in 1985, but here translates it instead from the Korean, which has fewer cases and so is easier to render in English. He adds his own commentary to Xishan's. There is no index or bibliography.
