Brady, a high school senior, receives a gift that is both beautiful and terrifying. He discovers he can talk to angels and draw down a magnificent and mysterious light from the Blessed Virgin. A malevolent darkness is indeed racing toward a small town outside Dayton, Ohio, transported in a rusted, white conversion van. The driver brings a palpable evil, unique in its seemingly random purposelessness. Arrogant and cruel, Ray has no idea of the place he plays in his Master's plan. This evil has a purpose.

Beavercreek, Ohio, has not yet awoken to the reality that young teen girls are disappearing. There's an Air Force base next door. Lots of people move in and move out. A missing girl? Maybe she ran away to find brighter lights.
