A Survey of Probabilistic Algorithms

Often probabilistic variants are the only feasible solution for problems. You can find many papers about them, but there is a lack of a paper which initiates you into this domain and helps to understand it with many demonstrative examples. The contribution of this paper is to summarize information of different papers and compare different applications for same problems. Furthermore to present how and why probabilistic algorithms work. In this paper probabilistic databases, routing and broadcasting are described and different variants compared.
