Their home environment was anything but ideal. Anna and Krista grew up with a helpless, detached mother and an angry, verbally abusive father. Anna walked around on eggshells, nervously waiting for her father to explode in a fit of rage. Krista, too, tried to steer clear of doing anything to upset him.
As soon as they hit their teen years, they escaped to a world of friends, alcohol, and drugs. They were desperate for love and a chance at a better life, but that only drove them into abusive relationships with other men and more drugs and alcohol.
