It is the late 1950's. A father is forced to break away and leave his homeland behind to escape endless kindred disputes that remain toxic and dangerous for him and his young family.
He finds a new and safe home in a foreign country some six hundred kilometres across the border. His daughters are aged three and six years old. They grow up as foreigners and must learn a new language, a new culture and customs. They never get to know their own. He and his wife feel restricted to fully practice their given culture.
The family settles in its new haven but increasingly feels severed from its roots. Means of communication are difficult, and no relative comes to visit. It is not an easy task for the parents to explain to their daughters why they made the decision to leave their country. The children must be protected from the truth, after all they were brought to this place to have a normal childhood.
