A War of Love

The first two sections of this book, Poems and Pretty and the Rascals, were written by the author in 1982 and 1983. The Humorous and the Melancholy was written in 2014. The other original three works were all written in 2015. I started writing poems in 1982 because of panic attacks stemming from the service, and because I wanted to reach out and touch others, as the saying goes. My poems are pretty poems, humorous poems, and spiritual poems primarily. The "Addendum" sections were all written in 2016 through 2018. The 1st edition of this book is 128 pages long. The 2nd edition, which includes the 1st edition work and the Addendum, is 302 pages long, or 174 pages longer than the 1st edition. So I was a pretty prolific writer from 2016 to 2018. You'll notice that in the Addendum sections my wife's presence is recorded in the first three sections but not in the last three. And that is because my beloved wife of 40 years, Nancy, passed away January 5th of 2017. The last three sections begin with the section, Since Nancy, and are in honor of Nancy, who read all of my poems and gave me feedback. There is a tribute to her at the beginning of the Addendum which I hope you will read.
