A World Away

Fleur, one of the most hypocritical dictators of the 24th century, created the "soulmate system," in an attempt to promote gender equality. A decade later, the same system results in the unforeseen friendship of Angelee and Sierra, two young and wildly distinctive girls. Set against the backdrop of Calabria, Italy, all citizens are forbidden to leave, leaving them confined in an idyllic, yet haunting world. Angelee and Sierra are eager to break free of the chains that have held them captive for so long. However, an unlikely circumstance causes the pair to split up and travel in different directions with newfound purposes. And although both girls get what they wanted in the end: an escape from the familiar... a startling turn of events, only makes them yearn for the familiar even more. This remarkable odyssey teaches all of Calabria that the pursuit of liberty is essential for equality. Once we have both, we can then create a better world.
