Achieving SDG 3.1 and ending preventable maternal mortality requires effective strategies and interventions to improve maternal health and enhance the monitoring and understanding of mortality trends. One of the main interventions is hinged in health promotion that has to occur in the postpartum period. Policy and Programme Actions Based on the New WHO Guidelines stipulate that if birth is in a health facility, mothers and newborns should receive postnatal care in the facility for at least 24 hours after birth. If birth is at home, the first postnatal contact should be as early as possible within 24 hours of birth. At least three additional postnatal contacts are recommended for all mothers and newborns, on day 3 (48- 72 hours), between days 7-14 after birth, and six weeks after birth. The purpose of this study was to assess the adherence to postnatal care services schedule and its determinants among mothers in Kawowo Sub County
