Agro-Climatology: Advances and Challenges

The following statement, expressed in an informal tone, has been rephrased to use a formal tone: The phrase Be weather wise- Otherwise - Not wise is the new jargon developed by the senior author of this book by 1998, which underscores the significance of weather and climate to human society and the lives of other Earth-based organisms. This phrase is action-oriented and encompasses all aspects of life on Earth, from A to Z. In contrast to earlier publications on agricultural meteorology and climatology, which primarily focused on theoretical aspects, this publication devotes a greater proportion of its content to practical applications. The book is comprised of ten chapters, each addressing a different aspect of crop-weather interaction and agro-met observatory, agro-climatic analysis, crop micro-meteorology, remote sensing, crop simulation models, weather codes and their management, integrated weather forecast and agro advisories, climate change, livestock climatology/meteorology, and astro-meteorology.
