In ancient times, there was once was a proud Jinn king who sought the annihilation of mankind. Only one woman, purer than light, was gifted the power to seal him. She placed upon him a seal that man could only break with the vilest sin. But whod dare condemn their own race so absolutely?

In modern Sol, Lin is the orphan ward of the four pure Nobles, the Kravens, but is shunned by their society. Ace, the Kraven heir, was her childhood solace until tragedy led him to leave Sol in grief. After five years of mastering his ruh of fire, he returns as a young man, damaging Lins resolve to keep her distance. More Nobles are dying unexpectedly, leading Ace to question whether his parents deaths were purely incidental. Eerie dreams and an unexpected revelation warn Lin that something sinister is at a hand, but what can an untrained, illegitimately born outcast do about it?
