Robert Prather, a young American, goes through culture shock when he travels to Nigeria, alone, on a quest to marry his bride. The adventure that ensues is filled with excitement and danger as well as a spirit of giving unlike anything Prather has ever experienced.Prather struggles with communication barriers, illness and internal conflict as he experiences stark contradictions to the images of poverty and unrest in Africa constantly portrayed in Western media.
