An Analytical Study of Kathina Robe in Theravāda

The book aims to present the meaning and importance of Kahina robe (cvara) in Theravda tradition. According to Vinayapiaka, Kahina practice of early Sagha was just simple monastic act and the monk who spread the Kahina and who rejoice in the Kahina are entitled to enjoy the five Kahina privileges (kathinnisasa). The characteristics of Kahina robe are offering to the Sagha (Saghikadna) and the time to offer the Kahina (Kladna). However, the Kahina robe was allowed by the Lord Buddha for the convenience of the monks in their daily life, mainly for their convenience in their Dhamma tours and used of robes.
