An Irish Country Childhood

This is the story of a magical childhood on a farm in the west of Ireland during the 1930s and early 1940s. It tells of a young girl and the mountain-village community in which she grew up, one that was poor, though with a vibrant spirit and never short of the necessities of life. Marrie Walsh's young life was peopled with as varied a collection of characters as one would ever wish to meet.
