Ancient Rites

"Ancient Rites" is a mature collection of poems from the pen of one of the most prolific of modern American writers. Dr. Condor delves into the mysteries of the past, the myth and sublime, the continuum that binds our present lives. Most poems here are profoundly philosophical, some experimental, but all bear a unique trait of experience, suffering, determination and accomplishment of their author. The collection is completed with an experimental poem in ten parts entitled "The Nothing Generation." This final piece is a visionary lament documenting the American political backlash of the 2016 elections, the author's disillusionment with the blindness of modern youth, reflecting their anger and impotence, their enchantment with socialism and hatred of the past.
