Angina: Pocketbook

Angina pectoris is a common symptom, usually reflecting obstructive coronary artery disease. Coronary artery disease is responsible for over 450 deaths daily in the UK (one every three minutes). Each year in the UK alone, 320,000 people consult for angina and 300,000 experience myocardial infarcts. It is the leading cause of death in men and women. Angina is common and will become more common with an increase in the aging population. Effective evidence-based strategies for diagnosis, investigation and treatment are essential.
