Anji,

Anji, a young woman living with her family in a small, remote town in northwest Alaska, is overwhelmed with remorse after witnessing a terrifying incident in Anchorage that she chose to keep undisclosed. She asks herself, "If I had let out a blood curdling scream and sprinted toward the girl, could I have changed her fate or would I have unintentionally altered my own?"

Anji believes in the science and truth of all things, rather than in the widely accepted spiritual philosophies of her family and friends. A major turning point, unraveling her previously held convictions occurred when she caught a glimpse of a young woman who appeared in a mysterious northern lights display. Confusion overwhelms her as she attempts to discover the meaning of the startling vision and solve a puzzling mystery.

Anji is determined to help the authorities purge the state of the heinous criminals who have been trafficking and murdering young Alaskan women.
