Another Lucky Guy with ALS

Born in 1977, Michal Slezák was twelve years old when communist Czechoslovakia came to an end. He saw behind the Iron Curtain for the first time during a school trip to Holland and decided that he wanted to see more of the world. His expertise in snowboarding got him a job teaching the sport in America and Australia. In between he visited Mexico, Hawaii, Crimea, the list goes on. After turning thirty he settled down with the love of his life and had three children. He had it all...until one day he felt his strength ebbing away. Thus began his struggle with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease. Like Gehrig, he feels lucky for the life given to him and it motivates to the find the elusive cause and cure for it. This is his story.
