A mysterious virus known only as V-1 wiped out most of humanity before Charlene was even born. Now, the New Army Of God is expanding New Dixie's borders ever north and westward, murdering and enslaving people as they go. Charlene, Jackson, and the community of Marysville are in the New Army's path, but the deranged white supremacists aren't the greatest danger they face. The threat posed by the Narmy is nothing compared to the dwindling numbers of men who survived V-1. It has been more than twenty years since a male child was born to those few people who survived the great dying.

Five hundred miles west of Marysville in Midpark, another group of V-1 survivors is faced with the same dilemma. How can humanity survive if every baby born is a girl?

A man who Charlene knows only from visions may have the answer. He knows the V-1 virus that wiped out most of humanity somehow changed the DNA of those who survived. Now, he is in a race against time to recreate the technology needed for sequencing and altering human DNA.

Charlene knows her destiny is linked to the man in her visions. What she doesn't know is how they are connected or where to find him. What she does know is that somehow the fate of humanity depends on her and Jackson finding this mystery man. Somehow, somewhere in time, the three of them, along with one other, are all connected. The four of them together hold the key to mankind's future. Will they find each other in time?
