Art for Professions: Art Appreciation and Knowledge Visualization is aimed to help non-art majors and professionals in various disciplines to envision the arts in our global cultural reality, and also to use it as a useful force supporting their own careers. Our visual literacy skills need to grow, because technology and our networked way of life become more visual. Icons, symbols, analogies, and metaphors used by the artists serve as a vehicle for faster organization, communication, meaning, and abstract thinking. We use them on various levels pretty much every day when using our phones. This book instructs student show to link art content with old and current technologies to better understand their surroundings.
