arthur and rose takes readers on a journey from the united states to the marche and abruzzo regions of italy in search of documents from the 1800's which tell about them and their ancestors. the journey includes trips to these regions as well as many letters written in italian and english in order to obtain copies of vital records regarding birth, marriage and death. while growing up in leominster massachusetts ernie heard many stories about arthur growing up in pretare italy and rose growing up in clinton massachusetts. the journey through massachusetts in search of official documents of birth, marriage and death covered several cities and towns.
