This publication is an edited English translation of the 'Brmh' by Sr Gur Gobind Singh J from the Sr Dasam Granth. The Brmh is literally translated as 'the twelve months'. The Brmh is not unique to Sikhism and there are hundreds of different Brmh scriptures created by both Hind and Muslim poets, saints and intellectuals.
Within the Sikh scriptures we find a number of scriptures under the name of Brmh authored by the Sikh Gurs. Within the Sr Gur Granth Shib J there are two Brmh compositions, one authored by Sr Gur Nnak Dev J in Tukhr Rg and the second authored by Sr Gur Arjan Dev J in the Mjh Rg. Sr Gur Gobind Singh J also wrote two Brmhs to mirror those written by his predecessors. Many still believe that Sr Gur Gobind Singh J only wrote one Brmh and the other one is usually forgotten about. The two Brmhs are found within the epic 'Krishn Avtr Kath'.
The Brmhs of Sr Gur Gobind Singh J are similar to the Brmhs found within the Sr Gur Granth Shib J. They relate to the separation and the pangs of despair that an individual experiences when they are not with their beloved.
