Backwaters

At eleven years old, Katreena D. Carlson had gone through more heartache then most people do in their lifetime. Mischievous and headstrong, she is adopted by an old, widowed, horse rancher named Tom. Through circumstances and destiny, both of them learn just how far a little faith and love can go.

Over time Katreena thrives in her new life on the ranch. She experiences many exciting adventures along with her palomino filly, Gypsy, and Aaron, a neighbor boy who shares a fiercely devoted friendship with Katreena.

Through the course of their adolescence, Aaron and Katreena's friendship passes the test of time, and eventually develops into tender intimacy.



Now a young woman, Katreena experience tragedy yet again. This leads to a misunderstanding that causes her to lose the trust that she and Aaron had so carefully built over the years of their youth. She will make a decision that alters the lives of those she loves, and threatens to destroy her own.

Will she ever know the truth? Or is she destined to live out a lie due to her own insecurities and fears?
