We are all different. Different abilities, different back

grounds, different family traditions, different looks-

yet ironically, we are all very much the same.

Unfortunately, too often we focus on the differences.

Each time someone focuses on your differences it feels

as if you shrink a little-shrink to the point where you

seemingly disappear.

Feeling different, being different, and wrestling with

the conflicting messages that society sends about what

normal is-these struggles are universal, and we have

all felt the emotions that come with being different.

Through courage, compassion, and determination, we

are able to learn to love ourselves and overcome the

the challenge of not being like everyone else.
