The renowned Assamese singer Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, while describing about beauty composed a song saying, the land of sunrise in India is the most beautiful part in not merely beautiful, but also full of virtues. This book is a little effort to describe the beauty of Assam, its people and virtues of the people living in Assam. This is the only part of India not rigid by religious orthodoxy, free from dowery and relatively less prone to caste system. The women of Assam are equal with man in every aspect of life.
