In Beyond Mothering Earth, Sherilyn MacGregor argues thatcelebrations of "earthcare" as womens uniquecontribution to the search for sustainability often neglect to considerthe importance of politics and citizenship in womens lives.Drawing on interviews with women who juggle private caring with civicengagement in quality-of-life concerns, she proposes an alternative: aproject of feminist ecological citizenship that affirms the practice ofcitizenship as an intrinsically valuable activity while allowingfoundational aspects of caring labour and natural processes toflourish.
