Backpacking can lead you to places that you never imagined ending up in. It was never his intention to be held at knife-point by thugs in the back streets of Colombia, or to get interrogated numerous times by the police and border patrol. He voluntarily gets locked up in a Peruvian prison, illegally climbed some of the highest peaks of the Andes mountain range, battling the elements of nature he drove 12,000 miles on a dirt bike through South America’s uncharted terrain, and survived a car crash in the harsh winters of the Canadian Rockies. To put it simply: life happens before you know it.
