Bite the Bullet, Bootsie!

'Bite the Bullet, Bootsie!' is a poignant, funny and entertaining autobiography written by Bootsie Bettenson giving colourful descriptions, stories and reminiscences of his live, growing up in war-torn Britain. 

He tells the story of the heartache of being brought up as an illegitimate child in 1943, as the product of an assault on his mother by an unknown soldier, and describes how he and his playmates would find adventure in the bomb holes of Portsmouth until he moved from city life back to happier years growing up on the Isle of Wight.  

He gives the reader a fascinating insight into his new life, his Island education and his career of working with companies, such as J.S. White's Shipyard and GKN Aerospace.  He tells lively stories of his time with the Territorial Army and working in Germany and shares happy times on the raising of his family, his love of music and his spiritual journey later in life.  Full of Island history and other historical references, this book takes the reader on a journey expanding more than seven decades.
