Bonhoeffer on Freedom

Dietrich Bonhoeffer lived most of his adult life in Hitler's Germany, under one of the last century's most restrictive regimes. He spent his final years in a Nazi prison, deprived of the basic freedoms which most of us take for granted. Against this backdrop, his theological reflections on the true nature of freedom make compelling reading. This new study takes the theme of freedom as a lens through which to offer a fresh and insightful reappraisal of this major theologian in the light of the new critical edition of his writings.
