Boy to Bootneck

This is the story of a man's adventures on the sea during the Second World War. The author's training as a marine, his time aboard HMS Nelson in Operations Pedestal and Torch and his experiences both in service and on leave are reflected upon with fondness and often with humour, and the stories he tells combine to create both a snapshot of the military and a warm portrait of a young serviceman's life.
