Moving back to Ridgeview was the last thing I wanted. I got away from here as soon as I could and I've hardly looked back. Yet here I am, twelve years later, living in my hometown where ghosts of broken dreams and promises haunt me around every corner. Millie Jacobson, my best friend's little sister and my little brother's best friend. To sum it up: it's complicated. I've known her since the day she was born. We grew up together. Somehow along the way she grew up. She's no longer that gangly little girl who sang at the top of her lungs at my baseball games anymore than I am that kid who couldn't wait to get out of Ridgeview and make the major leagues.
