Broken Vows

It takes two people with the same commitment to make a successful marriage. In Broken Vows, Patricia Fitzmaurice shares the story of how she married in the 1950s when America was a different place. Her devoutly Catholic husband supported the family while she was a stay-at-home mom.

But Patricia's husband had once wanted to be a priest-he had even been in the seminary for twelve years-then he chose the vocation of husband and father instead.

However, as the times changed and the children grew up, Patricia found herself wanting more from life-a career. Her husband struggled with her decision, and then he struggled with his previous decision to leave the priesthood. Both would have to make difficult choices.
