When Wisconsin natives Bob and Glenda Burdick moved their young family to Green Bay, Wisconsin, small cities in the Upper Midwest were making America great, growing small businesses that would become national names:  Jung Seed, Gold Bond Ice Cream (later Good Humor),  Zimmerman Cheese, Schreiber Foods.  An expert in industrial refrigeration, Bob takes the reader behind the scenes of these companies, and regales us with stories of youth hockey, soap box derbies, and local hot spots like the Boots Bakers’s restaurant, the King’s X, a local favorite originally owned by Packers cornerback Jesse Whittenton.
