Calling Him Trusted

He is love, they said. He is good, they said. You can trust Him, they said. I searched for this God they described, while living undiagnosed and without understanding of Complex Trauma Disorder. I felt like a blind woman navigating an unknown room, searching for God while listening to the voices describing Him. But it was so dark, and as I searched, I longed to trust Him without fear of betrayal, abuse, or abandonment; without fear that the God at the end of my search might be filled with hate and anger and rage. If you live with Complex Trauma Disorder you know that maintaining relationships with others and developing a sense of self is nearly impossible without an anchor. There are lots of things in this world to which you can anchor. I found the most trustworthy, unchanging anchor in Jesus and I'd love to tell you about it.
