This book opens with a description of the history of the Jewish state and then documents the steps taken toward peace between Israel and Egypt. These steps resulted in a historic peace treaty being signed between the two countries on March 26, 1979 in Washington D.C. At that time and place, Anwar El Sadat (President of Egypt) and Menachem Begin (Prime Minister of Israel) ended thirty years of intermittent war and uneasy truces between their two countries.
